Interestingly enough most high level leaders, professional athletes, biz execs and top performers have a coach to help them take their game to the next level.
You might be saying to yourself, I’m not a professional athlete or CEO. Doesn’t matter.
Coaching is for everyone and anyone who wants to make real change in any area of their life.
Here’s a noteworthy article in Forbes magazine on why to hire a coach.
What is Coaching?
Coaching is the process of creating meaningful, sustainable change by working with a trained mentor to guide you in the use of specific, powerful behavioral tools.
My clients are experts of their own lives who pursue transformation and excellence by partnering with me to create change. I can help you set life goals, experience them, and ultimately, achieve personal success. The areas where we can achieve this together are limitless and include health and wellness, nutrition and physical fitness, romantic relationships and parenting. Coaching is a powerful partnership and process designed to create lasting change.
It’s Not Counseling. It’s Not Consulting.
Coaching is not counseling. Counseling aims to heal mental and psychological issues and often examines past events. It typically focuses on diagnosing a “problem” that needs to be addressed. Coaching is unique in that coaches see opportunities, not problems. Coaches shift the focus away from “why” and towards “how”. Coaching is results oriented, maintaining focus on the current situation and actively developing plans for the future. Counseling focuses on helping you to live functional lives. Coaching focuses on helping functional people live extraordinary lives!
Coaching offers a distinct advantage over business consulting. Business consultants typically prescribe a course of action to achieve an objective. They tell the client what needs to be done and they may even do the work that is required.
Consultants are expected to deliver the right answers, whereas coaches aim to ask the right questions. Coaches empower you to create your own customized and personal solutions and become the driver of your own success. Through improved communication, focus, uncovering limited beliefs and accountability, coaching dramatically increases your ability to achieve desired results on your own. Rather than delivering a single solution, coaching raises self awareness and permanently increases your own ability to repeatedly develop solutions.
