Learn to Love Yourself Happy with Shari Alyse

Motivated by her own journey through childhood sexual abuse and other childhood traumas, Shari Alyse has spent her life learning how to love herself fully and completely. Shari helps women and men discover their joy by reconnecting them back to themselves through the practice of self-love. Shari is the Best-Selling Author of the book Love Yourself Happy, Motivational Speaker, Self-Love Coach and hosts weekly radio and an online TV show called The J-Spot. She is also the Co-Founder of The Wellness Universe, a community of holistic practitioners, coaches, and thought leaders whose focus is to help create happy, healthy and whole people. The Wellness Universe is the bridge that connects wellness resources to those who are seekers of wellness.

Shari shares very bravely and openly about her deep struggles with self-loathing after being sexually abused as a child, and how she has triumphed and rewritten the script to literally love herself happy. We talked about ways to reconnect back to the younger part of you that experienced trauma and how to heal at a deep level. Here are some of the things we discussed:
 
 
Things We Learned From This Episode
  1. Shari found that learning to go within, to get still and to meditate is what really helped her to listen and honor her inner voice. She had always heard it but dismissed it and shoved it down with excess food (I know that drill and guessing some of you do as well). By getting quiet and talking to the little girl within, she started to hear what was really needed; to be loved and appreciated.
  2. The most healing aspect that has changed Shari’s life is giving herself two big hugs every day, and I mean, big ass wholehearted hugs that you would want from your partner or best friend. She also converses with herself and asks constantly what she needs and then listens.
  3. Instead of running from herself and her emotions, Shari now welcomes them all fully and asks how she can support herself more. This act of radical self-love has changed her life, her health and her aim to help others struggling with self-love.
