Spiritually Fit: Spiritual Awareness for High Achievers with Kate Eckman

Kate Eckman empowers high-achieving individuals to actualize their full potential. She leverages her experience as a well-known communications, performance and mindfulness expert, accomplished entrepreneur, and elite athlete to equip leaders with the tools, methodology, and energetic boost they need to compete and win at the game of life. With a results-driven approach rooted in neuroscience, positive psychology, and whole-person coaching techniques, Kate helps her clients succeed in and out of the boardroom and on and off the field. She guides them to identify who they are beneath their titles and labels, clarity their priorities and values, and then co-create a game plan to get them from where they are now to where they most desire to be … adding in some fun and humor along the way. Kate incorporates a mind-body-spirit approach into her coaching engagements, recognizing that when we take care of our inner world, our outer world takes care of itself.

Kate recently led and organized the team behind the launch of QVC’s first and only proprietary beauty brand, which made more than four million dollars in sales the first day alone. Known for her incomparable salesmanship, she helps global beauty brands shape their vision, strategy and innovation to inspire the achievement of breakthrough results. Kate earned her B.A. in communications from Penn State University, where she was an Academic All-American swimmer. She received her master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She graduated at the highest degree from Columbia University’s executive and organizational coaching program.  Kate is the author of, The Full Spirit Workout: A 10-Step System to Shed Your Self-Doubt, Strengthen Your Spiritual Core, and Create a Fun & Fulfilling Life, which is a workout for your spirit that will help you build strong mental and emotional muscles and get fit on the inside. Passionate about mindfulness practices for both brain and body health, Kate is a meditation teacher and course creator for Insight Timer, the world’s number-one ranked free meditation app.

It’s Time To Redefine Success

It’s exhausting to pretend that all is always going well and it can feed into an never ending cycle of expecting perfectionism of yourself and others. It’s time to redefine success on all levels, which is not about being perfect (doesn’t exist anyhow) and is more about showing up the best you can be, in that moment, and being of service to help others. By doing this kind of way of success, you’ll connect authentically and also feel less alone or stuck in the perfectionism rut. It’s not about toxic positivity and always having to be positive, but more about embracing humanity and allowing yourself to have an off day(s) and sharing that openly with others.

The Full Spirit Workout

Kate talked about how we all need more time to go within and just like we spend time working out and building our muscles, we need a workout for our spirit; an emotional workout of sorts. This book was a labor of love that she felt was her divine assignment, and a way to teach a new way of being fit; on the inside spiritually and emotionally. It’s time we put our wellbeing first and make this a priority.

The 5 P’s of Self-Confidence

These are the 5 P’s Kate talks about in her book about how to build more genuine confidence. The root of confidence means ‘to trust’, so this is really about learning to trust your inner wisdom.

  1. Presence: this is about showing up fully connected to your higher self and spirit, and as a full person
  2. Patience: trusting all in divine timing and surrendering is part of the importance of patience.
  3. Purpose: Show up no matter what and finding what truly drives you
  4. Preparation: Prepare, show up and build habits that support your highest good.
  5. Practice: get support to stick to your purpose and always keep trying, and practicing

We chatted about the bonus P’s: Pause: take time to process first and pause before responding to your inner voice or that of someone else’s that is unkind or not helpful and Person: be a person who leans into trust. These will all bring you deeper and greater peace.

Boost Your Mental Metabolism

Just like food turning into energy (calories), your thoughts also turn into energy. You want to choose your thoughts wisely and tap into the power of reframing to look at situations from a new perspective. A great question to ask yourself if feeling stuck, is ‘What if?’…as in, what if this is happening for a higher purpose?
